New World Models
Stellina Sport is excited to introduce New World, an entirely new concept in handmade frame production. It’s the ultimate pairing of the craftsmanship of the ALAN workshop in Padua, Italy and the skill of our graphics and frame painting team in the U.S.
Classic Frames
The New World concept was born in 2009, when we decided to offer ALAN’s handmade alloy and alloy/carbon Italian frames with an updated and distinctly American look. In doing this, we worked closely with Alberto Falconi, ALAN’s owner and son of the company’s founder. First, we asked the craftsmen in the workshop to go back to their roots in cyclocross and road frame design and create frames in the 20 standard, non-sloping sizes for which ALAN has been renowned since 1972. Next, we asked them to send us the frames unfinished so that we could offer our customers a choice of our new graphics packages, or the freedom to design their own graphics. \
Amazing Graphics
For the design of our new graphics packages, we chose Noah Scalin, an acclaimed artist and graphic designer. We spent many months talking to Noah about the ALAN heritage and the value we at Stellina Sport place on tradition, craftsmanship and the skill of the individual frame maker. Noah’s designs speak to those values and give the New World collection a bold, clean look that is distinctly forward-looking.
Precision Painting
When it came to hand finishing every frame with top quality paints and coatings, we wanted an artist with extraordinary skill and patience. We chose Canyon Smith, whose talent, years of experience, and quality standards aligned perfectly with our desire to produce unique frame sets of outstanding beauty and originality. Canyon works closely with our customers on all custom work and paints every frame in the New World collection by hand in his shop. Canyon is truly an artist whose imagination and innovative design work has produced many beautiful, one-of-a-kind frames for our customers.
To complement the frames in this collection, we chose Alpha Q forks for their stiffness, performance and superior handling. The Alpha Q CX20 cyclocross fork is standard on both cyclocross models. The top quality Alpha Q GS40 road fork is available as an upgrade on any of our road frames.
The first three models in the New World collection – two cyclocross and one 29er mountain bike – are now available.
